Our team is as diverse as our neighborhood. We all have different professional backgrounds and life experiences, and we actively incorporate our different perspectives into our work. As a community center, we want to improve life in the region
Actively shape Schillerpromenade and Flughafenkiez together with our neighbors and connect people.

To this end, we organize small and large events that bring people together. Mobile Encounters means we're out and about in the neighborhood. You can meet our team at various locations throughout the neighborhood every week.

The social enterprise interkular gGmbH is behind the Kiezbegegnung community center. We believe in solidarity through encounters, advice, and support. In addition to our community work, we support people with refugee and migration backgrounds with all their everyday questions and help with communication with public authorities. We also accompany young people who are new to Berlin as they settle in.

Our projects

As a social enterprise, we have been developing and implementing concepts for a society based on solidarity since 2017. Social participation across social boundaries is only possible under certain conditions. That is why we create spaces for exchange, empowerment, and participation where people can meet—regardless of their origin, age, or status. Through our services, we bring democracy to life in everyday life, create spaces for dialogue, activate the caring community, and promote social participation through empowerment and volunteer work for greater cohesion and a society based on solidarity. We organize neighborhood work, advise people with refugee backgrounds, and support young people as they settle in Berlin.

BEGEGNEN

The Begegnen team offers various participation formats for the neighborhood. It creates spaces for encounters where diversity is welcome and closeness develops.

BERATEN

The Beraten team uses its expertise and empathy to support people with refugee and migrant backgrounds in all aspects of everyday life, such as work, education, housing, and dealing with the authorities.

BEGLEITEN

The Begleiten team supports young people who are new to Berlin when they arrive: with practical help, guidance, and the reassurance that they are not alone.
